School Kit: Giving Girls Like Nandini the Tools to Dream

Nandini, 22 | Nagpur
Nandini Dhande was just 12 when her father passed away, leaving her mother, an ASHA worker, to support the family on a modest income. Even basic school supplies were hard to afford, and Nandini faced the real possibility of having to give up her education.

With the Mariam-Lakshyavati bursary, she was able to continue school, buy notebooks, pens, and even a smartphone to attend online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Motivated by this support, Nandini excelled academically, consistently securing merit positions. Today, she is in the final year of her B.Tech, preparing for an MBA in IT, and dreams of inspiring other girls in her community to pursue their ambitions.

You can give girls like Nandini the tools they need to focus, study, and succeed.
